Question 2

Accepted Answer

Our products and guides are designed to be accessible to beginners while offering depth for those who have been working with dreams for years.

Question 6

What is the Dream Guide?

Accepted Answer

The Dream Guide is a free, in-depth guide to the world of dreams created by Door of Dreams. It covers dream science, symbolism, recall techniques, lucid dreaming, and ritual practice. The Dream Guide is our way of offering real depth alongside our products. We believe that meaningful dream work requires understanding — not just tools. The guide is written carefully and updated regularly.

Question 7

Is the Dream Guide free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Dream Guide is completely free. No registration required. It lives on our website and is available to everyone. We do not believe that knowledge about dreams should be locked behind a paywall. The Dream Guide is our gift to the dreaming community.

Question 8

What topics does the Dream Guide cover?

Accepted Answer

The Dream Guide covers: how dreams work, dream recall, dream journaling, lucid dreaming, dream symbolism, recurring dreams, nightmares, sleep rituals, and botanical support for dreaming. Each section is written to be both scientifically grounded and practically useful. We draw on sleep science, Jungian psychology, and the long tradition of working with dreams across cultures.

Question 9

Can the Dream Guide help me have lucid dreams?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Dream Guide includes a dedicated section on lucid dreaming with techniques for reality checks, dream stabilization, and entering lucid states more reliably. Lucid dreaming is a learnable skill. It requires consistent practice — good recall, a dream journal, and the right conditions for sleep. Our elixirs are designed to support those conditions.

Question 10

Is the Dream Guide based on science?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Dream Guide is grounded in current sleep science and neuroscience while also drawing on the rich human tradition of working with dreams. We cite research where relevant and are careful to distinguish between what is scientifically established and what belongs to the territory of interpretation and tradition. We hold both with equal respect.

Question 11

How often is the Dream Guide updated?

Accepted Answer

We update the Dream Guide regularly as our knowledge and research deepens. Each major section is reviewed and refined over time. Dream science is an evolving field. We take seriously our responsibility to keep the Guide accurate, useful, and aligned with the best current understanding of sleep and dreaming.

Question 12

What are the Botanical Ritual Elixirs?

Accepted Answer

They are carefully formulated liquid blends of plant extracts, adaptogenic herbs, and botanical ingredients traditionally associated with sleep, relaxation, and dream support. Each elixir is designed around a specific intention — rest, dream clarity, grounding, or depth of sleep. We select ingredients based on their traditional use, quality, and compatibility with a meaningful evening ritual.

Question 13

How do the elixirs work?

Accepted Answer

The elixirs work through the combined action of botanicals that support the nervous system, promote relaxation, and create the physiological and psychological conditions for restful, vivid dreaming. They are not magic — they are plant medicine. Their effectiveness depends on consistent use, a supportive sleep environment, and the intention you bring to the ritual. The ritual itself is part of how they work.

Question 14

Are the elixirs psychoactive?

Accepted Answer

No. Our elixirs do not contain psychoactive compounds. They are crafted from legal botanical ingredients and designed to support natural sleep and dream processes. Some of our ingredients are classified as nervines or adaptogens — plants that support the nervous system's natural balance. None of our products alter consciousness or induce hallucinations.

Question 15

Are the elixirs tested for quality and safety?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with trusted suppliers who provide quality documentation, and we review each ingredient for safety before formulation. We take the safety of our customers seriously. Our formulations are developed with attention to ingredient interactions, dosage, and contraindications. We do not cut corners on quality.

Question 16

Can I use more than one elixir at a time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in most cases. Our elixirs are designed to be compatible and can be layered to support different aspects of your ritual. If you are using multiple elixirs, start with the recommended amounts and pay attention to how your body responds. If you have health conditions or take medication, consult a professional before combining botanicals.

Question 17

Do the elixirs expire?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each elixir has a best-before date printed on the label. We recommend storing them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Botanical extracts are living preparations. Over time they may lose potency. Using your elixir within the indicated period ensures you are getting the full benefit of the formulation.

Question 18

What ingredients do the elixirs contain?

Accepted Answer

Our elixirs are made from plant-based ingredients: botanical extracts, adaptogenic herbs, and in some cases, natural flavour enhancers. Full ingredient lists are available on each product page. We are committed to transparency. Every ingredient we use has a purpose, and we do not include fillers, synthetic additives, or unnecessary compounds. If you have a question about a specific ingredient, write to us.

Question 19

Are the elixirs vegan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our elixirs are vegan. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients. Plant medicine is at the heart of what we do. It would not make sense for us to include animal products. Our formulations are 100% plant-based.

Question 20

Do the elixirs contain alcohol?

Accepted Answer

Some of our elixirs use a small amount of alcohol as a natural preservative and extraction medium. The amount is minimal and well within safe limits. Product pages specify this clearly. Alcohol is one of the oldest and most effective ways to extract and preserve plant constituents. Where we use it, the quantity is small and functional. Alcohol-free alternatives may be developed in the future.

Question 21

Are the elixirs gluten-free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our elixirs do not contain gluten. However, if you have a severe gluten allergy or coeliac disease, please read the full ingredient list on each product page. We use only plant-based ingredients and do not include gluten-containing cereals. If you have specific dietary requirements, we encourage you to review each product's full ingredient list and contact us if uncertain.

Question 22

Where do you source your ingredients?

Accepted Answer

We source our botanical ingredients from trusted suppliers who meet our standards for quality, purity, and responsible sourcing. We prioritise organic and sustainably harvested ingredients where available. The quality of our elixirs depends entirely on the quality of the plants we use. We build relationships with suppliers who share our values and who can verify the provenance and quality of every ingredient they provide.

Question 23

How do I use the elixirs?

Accepted Answer

Each elixir comes with usage instructions. The general practice is to take the elixir as part of your evening ritual, 30 to 60 minutes before sleep. The ritual context matters. We recommend dimming lights, stepping away from screens, and taking the elixir with intention — perhaps with a few slow breaths or a moment of reflection on what you would like to dream about or integrate.

Question 24

Can I add the elixir to a drink?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many people enjoy adding their elixir to warm water, herbal tea, or warm plant milk as part of their evening wind-down ritual. Combining the elixir with a warm drink can enhance the ritual quality of the experience and make the practice easier to sustain. Avoid adding to very hot liquids, as heat can degrade some botanical compounds.

Question 25

How long before I notice an effect?

Accepted Answer

Some effects — such as relaxation and ease of falling asleep — may be noticeable within the first few uses. Deeper effects on dream life often develop over 1 to 3 weeks of consistent use. Botanical medicine works gradually. We encourage patience and consistency. Keep a dream journal to track subtle changes — many people notice shifts in dream recall or quality before they notice other changes.

Question 26

How much elixir should I take?

Accepted Answer

Follow the dosage instructions on each product. Do not exceed the recommended amount. More is not better with botanical medicine. Our formulations are designed for the doses indicated. If you want to experiment with slightly different amounts, do so gradually and pay attention to how your body responds.

Question 27

Can I use the elixirs every night?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our elixirs are formulated for regular, sustained use. Consistency is key to experiencing their full effect. We recommend building a nightly ritual around your elixir use. Like any practice, the benefits deepen over time. If you choose to take a break, there are no withdrawal effects — these are whole-plant preparations, not pharmaceuticals.

Question 28

Are the elixirs safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when used as directed. Our elixirs are made from established botanical ingredients with long traditions of use. We review each formulation for safety before release. We are careful and conservative in our formulations. That said, 'natural' does not always mean 'safe for everyone.' We provide clear contraindication guidance and encourage you to consult a professional if you have any health conditions or take medication.

Question 29

Can I take the elixirs if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not recommend our elixirs during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please consult your healthcare provider before using any botanical supplement during these periods. Many botanicals that are safe in normal circumstances require extra caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Out of care for you and your baby, we ask you to seek medical guidance before using our products at these times.

Question 30

Can children use the elixirs?

Accepted Answer

No. Our elixirs are formulated for adults. They are not suitable for children. Children have different physiological needs and sensitivities. Our products are designed specifically for adult use and have not been tested or approved for children.

Question 31

Can I take the elixirs with medication?

Accepted Answer

If you take any prescription medication, please consult your doctor or pharmacist before using botanical supplements. Some plants can interact with medications. This is not a reason to avoid our products — it is a reason to be informed. Many botanical ingredients are gentle, but a few have known interactions with specific medications. A brief check with your healthcare provider gives you peace of mind.

Question 32

Are the elixirs a medicine?

Accepted Answer

No. Our elixirs are botanical wellness products, not medicines. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. We believe deeply in the power of plants to support wellbeing, but we are honest about what our products are and are not. If you have a health condition that affects your sleep, please work with a qualified healthcare professional alongside any ritual practice.

Question 33

What is a sleep ritual?

Accepted Answer

A sleep ritual is a set of intentional actions taken before sleep to signal to body and mind that the day is ending and the night is beginning. It can include dimming lights, breathing, writing, taking an elixir, and setting an intention for dreaming. Rituals work through repetition and intention. Over time, your body learns to associate these actions with the shift toward rest, making it easier to leave the day behind and enter sleep more deeply.

Question 34

Do I need to follow a specific ritual?

Accepted Answer

No. Our elixirs are tools, not prescriptions. Any ritual you build around them is valid — from a brief two-minute practice to a longer, more elaborate ceremony. We offer guidance and suggestions, but we believe ritual is deeply personal. The right practice is the one you will actually do. Start simple, stay consistent, and let the ritual evolve as you learn what works for you.

Question 35

How do I start a dream practice?

Accepted Answer

Begin with keeping a dream journal by your bed and writing in it each morning. Add your elixir in the evening. Gradually build other elements — breathwork, intention setting, reduced screen time — as feels natural. The most important thing is to start. Even a five-minute practice done consistently will produce more results than an elaborate practice done occasionally. Small, sustainable steps are the foundation of a meaningful dream life.

Question 36

Can the elixirs replace good sleep hygiene?

Accepted Answer

No. The elixirs support good sleep conditions but cannot replace the fundamentals: consistent sleep schedule, dark and cool room, reduced caffeine, limited screens before bed. Think of the elixirs as an amplifier for good practice, not a substitute. When your basic sleep hygiene is solid, the elixirs can help you go deeper. When sleep hygiene is poor, the effect of any supplement — botanical or otherwise — is limited.

Question 37

What is the role of intention in the ritual?

Accepted Answer

Intention focuses the mind. Setting a clear intention before sleep — even a simple one — can influence the quality and content of your dreams by orienting your subconscious before it enters the dream state. This is not wishful thinking — it is well-documented in sleep research that thoughts and intentions before sleep shape the content of dreams. The practice of incubating a dream question is as old as human culture.

Question 38

What is the best bedtime ritual for vivid dreams?

Accepted Answer

The most effective bedtime ritual for vivid dreams combines: dimming lights 1 hour before bed, taking your elixir 30-60 minutes before sleep, writing in a dream journal, setting a clear intention, and sleeping in a cool, dark, quiet room. Consistency matters more than complexity. A simple ritual done every night builds a powerful cue for the brain. Over time, your body learns that these actions mean 'deep dream time is coming' and prepares accordingly.

Question 39

What time should I take the elixir before bed?

Accepted Answer

We recommend taking your elixir 30 to 60 minutes before you intend to sleep. This gives the botanicals time to be absorbed and begin supporting your system. Taking the elixir at a consistent time each night reinforces the ritual signal. If you tend to fall asleep quickly, 30 minutes may be sufficient. If you take longer to wind down, 60 minutes gives more time for the plants to work gently with your system.

Question 40

Should I avoid screens before bed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We strongly recommend avoiding screens — phones, tablets, computers, televisions — for at least 30 minutes before sleep, ideally one hour. Blue light from screens suppresses melatonin and keeps the mind in an alert, stimulated state. This directly reduces the quality of sleep and dream recall. The combination of reduced screen time and our elixirs creates a dramatically better sleep environment.

Question 41

Does temperature affect dream quality?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sleeping in a cool room (around 17-19°C / 63-66°F) supports deeper sleep and more vivid dreaming. Core body temperature naturally drops as we move into deep sleep. A cool room facilitates this process. Many people find that adjusting room temperature is one of the single most impactful changes they can make to their sleep quality.

Question 42

What should I write in my journal before bed?

Accepted Answer

You can write a brief intention for the night — a question you would like your dreams to address, something you want to understand better, or simply an openness to receive whatever comes. Pre-sleep journaling is different from morning dream journaling. In the evening, it is about setting the stage. Keep it short and clear. One or two sentences is enough. The act of writing makes the intention concrete and communicates it to the dreaming mind.

Question 43

Why keep a dream journal?

Accepted Answer

A dream journal is the most powerful tool for improving dream recall, recognising patterns, and deepening your relationship with your inner life. Writing dreams down makes them real and communicates to your subconscious that you value them. Most dreams are forgotten within minutes of waking. The act of writing them down immediately trains the brain to hold onto dream memories longer. Over weeks of journaling, recall improves dramatically and patterns become visible.

Question 44

When should I write in my dream journal?

Accepted Answer

Immediately upon waking — before getting up, before checking your phone. Even a few words capture the feeling if full scenes have already faded. The transition from sleep to waking washes dream memories away quickly. Keep your journal and pen on your bedside table. The moment you become conscious, reach for it. Voice memos are an acceptable alternative if writing feels too slow.

Question 45

What if I cannot remember my dreams?

Accepted Answer

Begin by writing 'I don't remember' and then note any feeling, colour, or fragment. This act of attention signals to your brain that dream recall matters. Dream recall is a skill that improves with practice. Most people who 'never dream' actually dream every night — they simply don't remember. A journal, combined with our elixirs and consistent sleep rituals, reliably improves recall over 2 to 4 weeks.

Question 46

Should I analyse my dreams in the journal?

Accepted Answer

Analysis is optional. Some days you may want to explore what a dream meant. Other days, simply recording the images and events is enough. Both practices are valuable. Over time, patterns emerge naturally when you read back through your journal. You do not need to force meaning. Trust that the act of recording is itself valuable — the understanding often comes later.

Question 47

How detailed should my dream journal entries be?

Accepted Answer

As detailed as you can manage in the time you have. Even a single sentence is better than nothing. Aim for enough to bring the dream back to memory when you read it again. Good journal entries include: the setting, key figures or objects, any strong emotions, and the overall mood or quality of the dream. You can develop your own shorthand over time. The goal is memory, not literary quality.

Question 48

Why do we dream?

Accepted Answer

Dreams serve multiple functions: memory consolidation, emotional processing, problem-solving, and possibly symbolic communication from the unconscious. Science has confirmed the importance of REM sleep while the full meaning of dreams remains beautifully open. Current neuroscience understands dreams as the brain's way of processing the day's experiences, consolidating memories, and running simulations. Depth psychology adds another layer — dreams as a language of the unconscious, carrying meaning that supplements waking awareness.

Question 49

What are recurring dreams?

Accepted Answer

Recurring dreams are dreams with similar themes, imagery, or narratives that return across time. They often point to unresolved material — an emotion, situation, or question that the dreaming mind keeps returning to. Working with a recurring dream often means listening to what it is asking. Journaling, reflection, and sometimes therapeutic work can help understand and integrate the message. When the underlying material is addressed, recurring dreams often stop on their own.

Question 50

What are lucid dreams?

Accepted Answer

A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. This awareness can range from a brief flash of recognition to full conscious presence within the dream state, including the ability to make deliberate choices. Lucid dreaming is a learnable skill. Techniques include reality checks during the day, the MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams) method, keeping a consistent sleep schedule, and using botanical support that promotes vivid REM sleep.

Question 51

Why do nightmares happen?

Accepted Answer

Nightmares often arise during periods of stress, anxiety, trauma processing, or poor sleep quality. They are the mind's way of processing difficult material — uncomfortable, but not without purpose. Rather than fighting nightmares, working with them tends to be more effective. Journaling about the nightmare, exploring what it might represent, and improving sleep conditions can reduce their frequency. Persistent nightmares related to trauma benefit from professional support.

Question 52

Can dreams help with problem-solving?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is well-documented evidence that the dreaming mind can work on problems that the waking mind struggles with. Setting an intention before sleep to 'dream about' a challenge is a time-honoured practice. Famous examples include scientific discoveries and artistic breakthroughs attributed to dreams. The dreaming mind is less constrained by linear thinking and can make novel connections. A dream journal is the essential tool for capturing these insights before they fade.

Question 53

Can you help me design a ritual that fits my schedule?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our Dream Guide includes flexible ritual frameworks that can be adapted to short evenings or longer, more deliberate practices. We understand that life varies. A five-minute elixir ritual before bed is valuable. A thirty-minute wind-down with journaling, breathwork, and intention is also valid. The right ritual is the one you will actually do consistently.

Question 54

Which elixir is right for me?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your intention. Each product page describes the specific focus of that elixir — rest, dream clarity, grounding, or depth. Start with the one that most closely matches what you are seeking. If you are new to our products, we suggest starting with a single elixir for at least two weeks before adding another. This gives you a clearer sense of how each one works with your system.

Question 55

Can I combine elixirs and other wellness practices?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our elixirs are designed to complement other wellness and sleep practices — meditation, breathwork, yoga nidra, sound bathing, and others. There are no conflicts with most wellness practices. The botanical ingredients support the nervous system in ways that enhance rather than interfere with other practices. The only caution is around pharmaceutical medications — check with your doctor if relevant.

Question 56

Can you create a ritual specifically for lucid dreaming?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Dream Guide has a dedicated section on building a lucid dreaming practice, including which of our elixirs are most relevant to that intention. A lucid dreaming ritual typically involves: consistent sleep schedule, reality checks during the day, WILD or MILD techniques, vivid dream recall through journaling, and botanical support that promotes active, vivid REM sleep. Our elixirs are formulated with this in mind.

Question 57

Do you offer ritual guidance by email?

Accepted Answer

We restock regularly. If you would like to be notified when a specific product is back in stock, write to us and we will add you to the list.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our customers order for others. You can include a gift message at checkout. We also offer gift wrapping options. Question 63

Where do you ship?

Accepted Answer

We currently accept physical-product deliveries to Spain. Other countries are available only when they appear as selectable destinations at checkout. The checkout is the source of truth for available destinations. If a country cannot be selected there, we cannot accept a physical-product order for that destination yet.

Question 64

How long does delivery take?

Accepted Answer

Estimated delivery from dispatch is 5–10 business days in Spain and 10–20 business days for other destinations when enabled. Delivery times depend on factors outside our control: destination country, customs clearance, local postal services, seasonal demand, and public holidays. We normally prepare and dispatch orders within 1 to 3 business days.
